As an instructor at the Freddie Spencer Riding School, part of my job was to do demos that students would watch from the side of the track. There was one drill in particular that I hated to demo: the cone drill. And the reason I hated it was because I sucked at it. But, for Freddie, the cone drill was non-negotiable, and after years of trying to master it, I could see why.

We don't always need to be on track to work on techniques. If you know what to work on and how to practice it, even a simple parking lot offers a great training ground.
