Off-season testing. We all look forward to it, whether it’s watching the early season MotoGP and WSBK winter sessions, or catching a mid-winter track day to try out a new part or new technique. But in the professional ranks, what’s really going on inside the garage during testing? What do the pros work on and what are their protocols for getting a new bike up to speed?
I’ve been involved in off-season testing at the professional level in MotoAmerica for over a decade, and wanted to start a series that takes you behind the scenes of this process. Beyond the inside scoop of how we do things at the pro level, I’ll be sharing relevant takeaways for any rider or racer who wants to develop their own off-season testing program.
